What did you do the summer before internship?
My wife and I adopted 2 Kittens Abbott and Bill Gray, cooked wood fired pizzas in our Ooni pizza oven, rewatched Madmen, The Expanse, and The Peaky Blinders, hiked through Frick and Schenley Parks
What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Playing guitar, cooking, going to concerts, jazz clubs, hiking, and spending time with my pets and family!

What were you looking for in a residency program?
A program with a solid combination of Academic, County and Community sites
What are the strengths of the Pitt EM program?
The Jeep and Stat MedEvac shifts, our Tox service which is one of only a few inpatient services in the nation

What is one thing that surprised you about Pitt/UPMC?
That Pittsburgh was the birthplace of CPR and EMS

What do you like best about living in Pittsburgh/Western PA?
The great outdoors, hiking in and around Pittsburgh, great breweries and cideries!
Where did you choose to live, and why?
I lived in North Oakland as a med student which was more Undergrad-ey, then moved to Friendship which was more preprofessional students, and recently moved to Point Breeze North just around the corner from Frick and Westinghouse Parks!
Based on your experiences, what advice would you give to incoming applicants about moving to the 'Burgh?
Explore the city, it’s incredibly walkable and there are many different historic neighborhoods to explore!
