Joseph Yanta, MD

Dr. Yanta is a medical toxicologist and emergency physician at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He serves as the Assistant Program Director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship. His current research interests include novel pharmaceutical management of withdrawal syndromes, medical consequences of drug adulteration, and biomarkers of hepatic injury after acetaminophen overdose. He is currently the co-director of Ethics, Law, and Professionalism (a required medical student course) and is active in resident education for both emergency medicine and medical toxicology.
