(I'm surprised at) how friendly everyone is. Not just in our program specifically but all of the other residents and attendings that I have worked with all just seem happy to be apart of it.

Reflections on the Pitt EM Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
Great reputation with alumni network to help get a job anywhere.  Being in WV for last 9 years of my life I wanted to move to a city somewhere for a change of scenery.

What are the strengths of the Pitt EM program?
My co-residents, the staff, reputation, all in a great city with so many opportunities

Tell us about your residency classmates! How long did it take to connect?
We all met on the first night that everyone was in town. Was pretty clear we would all be a tight class after the first night.

What surprised you most about Pitt/UPMC?
How friendly everyone is. Not just in our program specifically, but all of the other residents and attendings that I have worked with all just seem happy to be apart of it.

About Pitt EM and Pittsburgh

What do you like best about living in Pittsburgh/Western PA?
Pittsburgh is a smaller city but with still plenty to do. Great sports.

Where did you choose to live, and why?
I live in Shadyside. It is at most 15 minutes away any of our locations. It is quieter part of town but with plenty restaurants, bars, gyms all within walking distance.
