Biography

Dr. Tobias serves as Assistant Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residence program. He has a strong interest in resident and medical student education, serving as course director of the emergency medicine residents Difficult Airway Course and as co-course director of the fourth-year medical student clerkship in Emergency Medicine and of the Get Ready for Residency course. He is also the creator and course director of the Bystander Emergency Response elective for first-year medical students.

Dr. Tobias is also a faculty member of the EMS Division within the Department of Emergency Medicine and is board-certified in EMS. He serves as an Assistant Medical Director for the Pittsburgh EMS; Medical Director of Kennywood and Sandcastle EMS, and is involved with various other aspects of EMS within Western Pennsylvania. He is a command physician for Stat MedEvac and provides online medical command in the STAT-MD Communications Center. He is the past recipient of the SAEM EMS Fellowship grant. He is also a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
