Our Applied Physiology Laboratory is conducting studies to identify methods that can lower activity and metabolism in astronauts during long spaceflights in order to conserve oxygen, food, and reduce psychological stress.

We offer a Summer Research and Clinical Immersion program that provides pre-medical and medical students with a diverse, structured, 8-week in-person experience with the world-renowned clinicians and researchers of Pitt EM.
