Paul Phrampus, MD, MBA, FACEP, is a professor in the University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. He serves as the vice chair of quality and patient safety for the Department of Emergency Medicine, medical director of the UPMC Donald D. Wolff Jr. Center for Quality Improvement and Innovation, and director of the Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER), a world-renowned multidisciplinary training, development, and research facility for medical simulation. Dr. Phrampus is an emergency physician at UPMC.
Dr. Phrampus completed his undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University before earning his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and fellowship in medical education with the American College of Emergency Physicians before joining the faculty at Pitt Med.
